Dr. Xiaochen Tang is Principal Scientific Engineering Associate in the Energy Technologies Area of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Her work focuses on understanding indoor chemical sources and reactions that affect indoor air quality and potentially harm human health, characterizing performance of air cleaning technologies, such as air cleaners and photocatalytic materials, and evaluating novel “cool” building envelope materials in connection with LBNL’s Heat Island Program.

Before joining the Energy Analysis and Environmental Impact Division in 2016, Dr. Tang was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, studying the impact of human occupants on indoor air quality and chemistry. Dr. Tang earned her Ph.D. in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from University of California, Riverside.
